Music—how can anyone have just one favourite song when there’s so much variety? Disco takes me straight back to the nights I worked as a bouncer in a nightclub. Rock? That also takes me back, but to completely different memories. Glam Rock—oh, my pre-teens! Every genre seems to carry a time stamp, like how a particular song instantly carries you back to a place or a feeling. I missed out on years of music and now find myself discovering songs I heard but never really listened to—they may have been playing on the TV or some other form of media—yet in my early thirties, I had drifted away from music.
